PDFCells vs Adobe Acrobat’s PDF to Excel export
Adobe Acrobat is a full PDF editor whose Export PDF to Excel keeps the page’s table layout; it is a good fit if you already pay for Acrobat. PDFCells is free for text PDFs and OCR, runs in your browser, checks totals and balances, and makes bank-statement files (OFX, QBO, Xero CSV) that Acrobat doesn’t.

Choose Acrobat if
- You already pay for Acrobat, or need PDF editing, signing and forms too.

- You want tables as clean data: real numbers and dates, one table per sheet, tables across pages joined.
- You need balances and totals checked, or OFX/QBO/Xero files from a statement.
- You don’t want to upload the file, or don’t need a subscription.
